I have seen firsthand how powerful and transformative it can be to acknowledge and embrace these vulnerabilities. Rather than viewing them as weaknesses to be concealed, we can harness them as sources of strength and resilience. This shift in perspective is not only empowering but also essential for our overall well-being and personal growth.

 

The Mask We Wear

In the professional realm, there is a pervasive belief that vulnerability is synonymous with weakness. We are taught to put on a brave face, suppress our emotions, and soldier on regardless of how we feel inside. This ‘I’ve got it together’ mask can be incredibly isolating, preventing us from seeking support or admitting when we are struggling.

While this approach might help us maintain our professional image, it can also lead to significant emotional and psychological distress.
