Conscious Harmony

A Mind, Body & Soul Reset

Healing Trauma & Nervous System Dysregulation

A whole body holistic healing approach to help you let go of known and unknown blocks, patterns and self-sabotaging behaviours.

The focus is on assisting you in understanding yourself on a deeper level, healing the root cause of your symptoms.

Often emotions get trapped and are seeking for completion in us. We are stuck in repetitive behaviours and patterns.

Our whole bodies have four layers – physical, mental, spiritual and emotional/energetic, they are all interconnected. What happens to one will affect another.  Our physical bodies are connected to our thoughts and emotions which is why physical issues can show up when we carry unresolved emotional charge.

Working with the whole body we can find the root cause of the presenting symptoms; the actual root system of trauma is in the body.  If we look at any situation where we contract against life; if that contraction doesn’t come back to completion, expanding back to stable equilibrium, that contraction is a trauma and then later in life we will re-contract in the same situation over and over again.  This can lead to forming addictions, toxic relationships etc as we strive to find ways to make life feel manageable.

Using a trauma informed approach, we bring the area you wish to gain completion on into active engagement. Through this process, we can access information and deeper wisdom that may not have been accessible through ordinary thinking or verbal therapies.  In a safe and relaxed way feelings and emotions can be processed and integrated.

Wellness is the complete integration of body, mind, and spirit – the realisation that everything we do, think, feel, and believe has an effect on our state of well-being.

If you are feeling overwhelmed with

… anxiety, depression, anger, chronic pain, low self esteem, grief;
… alcohol, food, gambling addictions and other addictive behaviours;
… trauma, PTSD, emotional, physical or sexual abuse;
… or other stress related issues;

or anything that is disrupting your daily life; my services can help you.

To look after our mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health, sometimes we need a bottom up approach.

We often speak our story from our heads , letting our minds and memories narrate our perception of the world.

In truth it is often the sensations held in our bodies that can truly reflect our story and help us navigate the road map for better connections with ourself.

The survival drive lives within our physiology, it is ‘below’ the intellect. It is part of our body’s autonomic nervous system.  Our culture is one that is based on survival, our collective physiology is one that is based on protection, threat and on survival of the individual, this leaves us unable to experience true connection because our underlying physiology protects us from it.

This survival drive has its roots deep within our unconscious and our body.

To get to it requires us to move beyond the common psychological practices and move downward, into our body, our nervous system and into the unprocessed pain that exists within our physicality.

When I showed up for the session and how I feel now is that I’ve been able to release any negative responses to alcohol but more than that I feel like I’m a lot lighter and I just feel more alive and connected to myself, my body and the world around me.

I just felt so dull beforehand and it’s a lovely bonus having gone through this process to feel a physical transformation. I love the process, because it’s kind of like a hack for your emotions and your body. I feel 100% better than I did when I started. And a clarity of mind as well.

Kate’s warmth and honesty was amazing, which enabled me to easily open up to the process. I can honestly say that the healing journey I had was nothing short of an embodied experience. I believe something has shifted beyond explanation. The session being online did not prevent Kate from creating a connection which enabled this to happen.

Research has brought fresh understanding of how and why our nervous systems hold onto pain and other symptoms long past their original usefulness, turning normally acute body responses into chronic ones. Patterns that have been learned by the brain can be unlearned.

During our time together, we get to the underlying causes of why coping mechanisms and habits are needed. Relieving these underlying symptoms reduces the need for the relief through destructive patterns or substances, along with working on direction and purpose going forward.

In whole body healing your program is personalised to meet your needs.  Using a somatic embodiment approach, energy healing, breathe work and other modalities we will work together to heal the underlying trauma, both conscious and unconscious.

A recent experience re-triggered deep patterns of anxiety for me that I thought I’d left behind long ago. I always approach healing session with a degree of apprehension, due to the experience of being re-traumatised so many times with conventional therapies. I was delighted to find that Kate’s healing sessions were interesting and intriguing, and I even looked forward to the last session with curiosity. They were also really effective, effortlessly restoring flow, ease and grace in my life. What a blessing! Thank you Kate.

What’s working together look like?

It’s a big decision to face what’s going on under the surface, baring your vulnerabilities; especially to someone new.

The idea of sharing the details of your trauma with a brand new therapist can feel like you’re ripping off a bandaid to show a raw, unhealed injury. If you tear off a scab before the wound has healed, you’ll find yourself bleeding all over again.

I want you to feel stable, safe and supported in and out of our sessions.  To do that and before we focus on the details of your experience, we have to develop ways for you to feel safe and stable in your current world. I will help you develop your resources and stability and increase your healthy coping skills.

A stronger sense of stability comes from having a safe space to hold feelings until you are ready to process them. This allows you to develop the ability to tolerate your current day feelings and know that you’re safe.

New coping skills and abilities to hold difficult feelings don’t happen immediately.  This growth happens by building a trusting therapeutic relationship, and then building safety within yourself. Then you can better handle the emotions that may come forth when you think about and share your painful story.

You are able to know that you are safe currently and can hold that dual awareness with the painful story of your past. In therapy, you learn to develop a larger window of tolerance of emotions, where the feelings are bearable, so that you can share your story in a way that promotes healing.

Kate was so kind and patient with me during my session. She helped me locate my reflux/anxiety and I could visualise it inside me, she helped me breathe thought it and heal it. She also took me to a past event I experienced. I released 3 different emotions during that session. I felt comfortable to be vulnerable in Kate’s presence. I always feel lighter and more intune to myself after a session with Kate.

In our sessions …

When we first meet I will share how the session runs and share the different techniques we will use.  After which we will create a resource that you can tap into to feel the safety that I mention above.

Once that is anchored into your body, I usually start with some talk therapy to assess and to get a sense of what you are experiencing.

From there we’re going to really slow down your nervous system in a way that suits you; in the process we’re just observing sensations and awareness.

Many people who have experienced stress or trauma may not really be connected with their body sensations and so talking, replaying the story, is often the thing that happens to avoid feeling those sensations or even being aware of them.

That is why this is so important.  The slowing down and practicing gentle mindfulness to start to get in touch with your body’s cues and sensations.

That’s why we call it somatic embodied approach.  Somatic meaning ‘relating to the body, especially as distinct from the mind’.  We are turning off that every so busy monkey mind that keeps reaffirming it’s protective stories and behaviours and learning to reconnect with the body.

When somebody has experienced trauma and the nervous system is so active, it’s constantly alerting them. So it becomes a practice almost to start to ignore it.

Whether it’s body pains, or it’s a jittery feeling; or anything that impedes upon the daily functioning that you had to learn how to cope with it.  It becomes really easy to ignore the aches and pains and feelings because you’ve learned to do so in order to just survive daily functioning.

When you take the time to be aware, acknowledge, feel by observing your body, using for example, mindfulness as a tool, you can get in touch understand the cues.

As your capacity grows in being able to bring your trauma or trigger to the forefront, using the safety resource you have created, we can then heal the trauma.

Thank you so much for our session.  I really appreciate how you gently welcomed me in to the space and guided me through some vulnerable depths of emotions. Your presence is very calm and I felt really safe to be and feel and show up for myself.

How long will it take to heal the trauma?

I will need to understand your history, your strengths, your resources for support and your current situation. Is this a single incident trauma or are you facing complex developmental trauma?  Do you have a fairly secure foundation and support system, or do we need to work to build these?

How long will depend upon the quality of our relationship and support. Can you learn to have a more secure foundation? Can you develop relationships outside of therapy that will support your healing? What matters is to work with you and the experiences you bring—from a place of safety and stabilisation. This is how true healing can occur.

I offer your first session at a reduced price so you get a sense of how we will work together. When you choose to continue with the 8 session Reset package, that session can be credited against the program cost.  Payment plans available.

How much will it cost?

As I offer flexible payment options depending on your unique journey, we can create a relationship in two ways, or both:

1. I offer a complimentary Clarity Call where we will chat over the options and to see if we are a good fit to work together.  This allows us to really connect and also gives us a good understanding of where you’re at and what’s currently happening in your world.  There is no pressure or obligation.

2. Reduced Price First Session
I offer this so you can experience the session and get a feel for how we’ll work together.  You can book that here.

When you choose to continue with the 8 session Reset package, that session can be credited against the program cost.

It has taken time for your life to get to this stage of being open to healing.  in truth, it is not a one session fix; it takes time to heal trauma.  I understand that the weight of your emotional pain is huge. I respect that and we move through it, one step at a time, in a way that we both know you can handle.

You are looking for relief when you decide to come to therapy. You want to feel better. That’s understandable and possible!

While therapy is an investment, I think you’re going to be pleasantly surprised at how affordable it is, especially when you consider the results that are possible for you. Flexible payment plans are available.

How long have you been using coping mechanisms that are not supporting your healing and are affecting your daily life?

[If you are an NDIS participant who is Plan or Self Managed, I can work with you.  I work from the Therapy Supports Budget Line of your plan.]

Why is it important to go to the Root Cause?

By going to the root-cause method using regression and progression practices it allows the completion of unprocessed emotions. This allows the unprocessed to finally process and no longer cause unwanted thoughts, behaviors and symptoms.

With advanced ways of testing and discovering the actual causation of the currently presenting unease within oneself,  which could be reflecting itself through negative life patterns and choices.  I will facilitate you to tap into the self-healing mechanisms of the deeper parts of your mind in an empowering safe container.

Assumptions, theories and the stories we create are no longer necessary as we create a way for the mind and body to consciously access and reassess from a clearer perspective, whether this is in the past or negative projections into the future.

Kate was professional, and I felt at ease working with her. I believe her easy nature will be a benefit to the most anxious client.

Healing is like an onion. As you process through one layer of trauma to release the pain and heal, a new layer will surface. One layer after another layer will bring up new issues to focus on. Pace yourself.
